About Daniela Wedel

Daniela Wedel was born in Munich, Germany. After her studies of History of Art, Photography and Ancient History she moved to Normandy, France. Further along she stopped for more studies in Florence, Italy, enjoyed the outdoors of Snodownia mountains in Wales, UK and settled then in Avignon, France. Just to enjoy more cheese and wine.

Daniela spends several months of the year on the road as an international tourguide for Ricksteves. She also runs her own travel consulting and touring company. When she is at home and not writing about herself in the 3rd person, she enjoys biking and hiking in Provence. Big parts of her time she dedicates to her photography and printing. And then there is more traveling around the globe. Of course!

Her camera is Daniela's permanent travel companion. Eager to extract the beauty (out) of the ordinary, her motivation is to stay enchanted by the world that surrounds her.
Daniela tells a story through images. This can be in a descriptive realistic or interpretative artistic style. Her portofolio is very eclectic and full of facettes. More recently Daniela gets more involved abstract imaginary representation and alternative printing procedures like Van Dyke, Gum printing.

2020 and the breakdown of travel business due to Corona, led Daniela to pursue her idea of opening a online gallery to expose and sell her works. After years of running a physical gallery in Avignon it is time to turn the page and turn to a new adventure and challenge.
